CT Macchine srl, the Hyundai Construction Equipment Europe Dealer for Western Sicily, supplied the customer Attardi Group srl with an HX220NL crawler excavator and an R35Z-9 mini excavator for quartz arenite extraction work in a quarry in the province of Enna.

The HX220NL crawler excavator works non-stop in the quarry at Troina, at an altitude of 1100 metres above sea level with a view of Mount Etna. Quartz arenite is extracted from this quarry, owned by the company Attardi Group srl; this is a sandstone that is particularly suitable for road foundations.

Attardi Group is a company specialising in the production and sale of ready-mixed concrete, and is also involved in quarrying, transport for hire and reward, drilling and earth moving. Thanks to its professionalism and wide experience, Attardi Group has become the benchmark company for operators in this sector in the province of Enna.

“Attardi Group was established in 2001, but its activities go back to the 1950s, with various companies who combined to form the company as it is today. Our establishment is involved in quarries, ready-mixed concrete, transport for hire and reward, drilling and earth moving. For the past four years we have also added the production of electricity. The HX220NL excavator is in the quarry at Troina and works on the extraction of quartz arenite, a material used purely for road works. We produce up to 15,000 cubic metres of this material per year”, said Antonio Attardi, Chairman of the Attardi Group.

The HX220NL crawler excavator has been working at the Troina quarry since last summer and is involved in extraction operations. In addition to this model, Attardi Group also purchased the R35Z-9 mini excavator for material handling within the quarry, and for road maintenance work.

“The Hyundai HX220NL excavator has been working in the quarry since June 2019. We acquired this machine because we needed to update and deploy our fleet. So we turned to the dealer CT Macchine, asking for a 20-tonne excavator delivering superior stability and with the capacity to guarantee high productivity”, explained Antonio Attardi.
